This FAQ explains who owns music generated on Tunee, when commercial use is allowed, how copyright certificates work, and what to do in common cases such as free-plan tracks, paid subscriptions, remixes, and platform reviews.

1. Who owns the music I generate on Tunee?

• Free Plan: Tunee owns the copyright. Users may use the music for non-commercial purposes with proper attribution.
• Paid Plan: Music generated during an active paid subscription belongs to the user, with full lifetime commercial rights(monetization, ads, games, etc.).

2. Can I commercially use music created on the Free Plan?

Music created under the Tunee Free Plan is mainly intended for personal, creative, and non-commercial use.

We understand that many creators are less concerned about “owning” a song in a strict legal sense, and more focused on whether they can share, publish, or distribute their music responsibly while giving proper credit. However, the key point is risk management.

For Free Plan tracks:

• You may use or share the music for non-commercial purposes with proper attribution.
• Attribution such as “Powered by Tunee” is appreciated, but it does not grant commercial rights.
• Free Plan tracks do not automatically include copyright ownership or a commercial license.
• Commercial use, monetization, paid distribution, advertising use, licensing, or use in business projects is not covered by the Free Plan by default.

If you want to commercially use a track created under the Free Plan, you need to upgrade to a paid membership and unlock the copyright/commercial rights through the member allowance.

Paid subscribers can receive monthly allowances to claim copyright for tracks created on the Free Plan before subscribing:

• Basic: 1 track/month
• Plus: 1 track/month
• Pro: 3 tracks/month

This allowance only applies to Free Plan tracks created before the subscription started. Music generated after subscribing is automatically owned by the user and does not require an extra copyright purchase.

3. What happens if I remix a track?

— If a track was originally created under the Free Plan and then remixed or edited during an active Paid Plan, the remixed version belongs to you and may be used commercially. However, the original Free Plan version still does not include commercial rights or copyright ownership.

— If the original track was generated during an active Paid Plan, you keep full ownership and commercial rights even if you remix it after your subscription ends.

4. How do I get a copyright certificate?

Here’s the steps:
Go to your project → click on […] → click on [Copyright Certificate].

Or go to your music folder → click on […] → click on [Copyright Certificate].

Download your Copyright Certificate.

5. Can I change the name on my copyright certificate?

Update your profile name first, then re-download the certificate.

Steps:

1. Click your profile avatar in the top-right corner.
2. Select Manage account.
3. Open the Profile tab and click Edit Profile.
4. Update the Name field and save.

6. Can I bulk download copyright certificates?

Currently, Tunee does not support bulk download of copyright certificates. This request has already been shared with the team and may be considered for a future version.
