Query Regarding Stem Isolation and Audio Bleed

Hi Tunee Team, I’m writing to you regarding the quality of some of the stems I have downloaded from your platform. I’ve noticed that many of the stems don’t seem to be completely “clean” or fully isolated. There appears to be a significant amount of audio bleed (or “crosstalk”) between the tracks. For example, when I download a stem labeled “Guitar,” I can often still hear elements of other instruments (like drums or vocals) mixed into that same track. Ideally, a guitar stem should only contain the isolated guitar performance.I was wondering if this is a known issue or if there is a specific procedure you recommend following on your platform to ensure that I download the cleanest, most isolated stems possible? Thank you for your time and any guidance you can provide. Best regards, Massimo

Not yet, the technical for sound source separation is still being optimized.

In the meantime, here are a few tips that might help you get cleaner stems:

  • Try to download stems directly from the original generation (before final mixing) rather than separating them from an already fully mixed track.
  • Choosing styles with less reverb and fewer overlapping instruments can sometimes result in cleaner stems — although we can’t guarantee perfect isolation yet.

We’ve received similar feedback from some users, and we’re already working on improving our stem separation model. We really appreciate your patience and feedback — it helps us improve. Please stay tuned for updates as we enhance our audio separation model.
