Open Critique: The Latest TUNEE Update is a Major Downgrade

Hello Dev Team and TUNEE Community,

I am writing this as a loyal user and a paying subscriber who has always admired TUNEE’s capabilities. However, I must express my deep disappointment regarding the recently released update.

Instead of improving quality, this update feels like it is “killing” the character of the TUNEE we all know. There are several crucial points where the quality has dropped drastically:

1. Removal of Key Features: Why were the features that served as TUNEE’s main strengths removed? This severely limits our creativity.

2. Decline in Output Quality: The songs generated now feel generic. The lyrics, musical composition, and vocal styles no longer blend as beautifully as they did in the previous version.

3. Language & Dialect Issues: This is the most disappointing part. Previously, TUNEE was incredibly smart at understanding the nuances of various languages and regional dialects. Now, that ability seems to have vanished. The results are stiff and unnatural, lacking the contextual understanding the previous version had.

To me, the previous version of TUNEE was far superior. It truly “understood” what the user wanted. The current version feels like a raw product that was forced into release.

Please remember, TUNEE’s success was built on user satisfaction with the previous version. If the fatal errors in this update are not fixed immediately, or if the old features are not restored, I fear TUNEE will be abandoned by its users. Please do not let this great platform crumble due to a bad update decision.

We urge you to fix this immediately or give us the option to roll back to the previous version!

Unfortunately I agree. Tunee….please share with us the real reason for the downgrade? We will support you 100% if you reinstate the miraculous platform that we all loved and embraced. YOU truly brought Music to a new level. Creation was empowered exponentially by the last version. Our deceased comrade’s music could be resurrected and refreshed in ways they couldn’t have imagined while they were alive. NEW songs can be created with incredible fidelity, arrangements and great attention to production detail. That is all gone now. If it’s a law suit, if it is Major Label threats, we will stand by you 100% if you choose to be brave and reinstate and embrace the truly groundbreaking and miraculous platform you had prior to this change. God bless, and I hope you find this post response supportive and helpful.

I BELIEVE THE CURRENT UPGRADE HAS NOT BEEN THOUGHT THROUGH. IT IS COMPLETE RUBBISH AND MAY BE LEAVING TUNEE UNLESS THEY REVERT TO THE ORIGINAL VERSION.

Prezada equipe TuneeAI,

Atenciosamente,
José

Dear TuneeAI Team,

I am writing this message with great respect, but also with significant concern and frustration as an active user of the platform.

I have always considered TuneeAI one of the best AIs for generating music, voices, and melodies. I specifically chose the platform because of the consistent quality it delivered and my trust in your team’s work. However, after the recent update, my experience has changed drastically.

I previously had approximately 950 credits, and now I only have 89 remaining, consumed by generations that failed, did not complete the music, or produced extremely low-quality results. In many cases, the music wasn’t even generated properly, yet the credits were not refunded. This creates a sense of injustice and discouragement for those who invest time, creativity, and money in the platform.

Additionally, the overall quality has dropped noticeably. The voices now sound artificial, emotionless, and unpleasant, while the instrumentals have lost harmony and identity. Unfortunately, the songs generated after this update no longer meet the high standard that TuneeAI used to have.

This situation directly affects my creative work and my channel, as I cannot afford to stop posting music. I use TuneeAI to transform my original lyrics into complete songs, and now I feel limited and insecure about continuing to create, even though I have always trusted the platform.

I want to make it clear that this feedback is not intended negatively. On the contrary, I am providing this complaint for the benefit of TuneeAI. The platform is excellent, has enormous potential, and has always been a reference in music generation. That is why it is concerning to see changes that, instead of improving the experience, have ended up harming users and could lead to the loss of many loyal creators.

I sincerely ask that your team reevaluate this update, consider fixing the quality issues, review the credit system in cases of failed generations, and, if possible, provide an option to revert or adjust to the previous standard.

TuneeAI is, without a doubt, a great tool. I sincerely hope this moment is just a course correction and not something that undermines everything that has been built so far.

Thank you for your attention and for all the hard work of your team.

Sincerely,
José

With all due respect to everyone here, I am sorry to be the bearer of this analysis. To everyone confused or angry about the latest update removing the AI Cover feature: stop waiting for a quick fix. Based on the current state of the AI music industry, this is not a bug. It is a deliberate move. Here is the breakdown of why this happened and how I see the future playing out:

THE HARD TRUTH: WHY IT HAPPENED

  1. THE “WRAPPER APP” REALITY
Technically, apps like Tune AI likely function as “Wrapper Apps”—they don’t own the AI engine; they resell API access from backend providers (like older Suno models or Stable Audio).
  • The Issue: The backend providers have likely blocked “Audio-to-Audio” (Cover) features for third-party apps due to liability risks.
  • The Result: Tune AI is crippled. The devs can’t “fix” it because the main tap has been turned off at the source.
  1. LEGAL PRESSURE: RIAA vs. AI
We are witnessing a crackdown. The RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) is currently suing major players like Suno and Udio.
  • Store Crackdown: Google Play and Apple App Store are scrubbing apps that facilitate copyright infringement (unlicensed covers).
  • Panic Mode: Tune AI devs likely nuked the feature voluntarily to avoid getting banned from the App Store entirely. They chose to save their revenue stream rather than deliver the product you paid for.

FUTURE SCENARIOS: WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

  1. MOST LIKELY SCENARIO (60%): Returns with “Strict Filters” & A New Name
This is the most logical outcome. The admins are likely panicking because the “Cover” feature is flagged as illegal by Google/Apple.
  • What will happen? They might re-enable the feature, but under a different name like “Voice Swap” or “Remix Tool.”
  • The Catch: They will install Copyright Filters. If you upload a famous song that is registered in the copyright system, the upload will likely fail or be rejected. They might only allow uploading your own recordings (humming/acapella). This allows them to keep the app on the Store while technically offering the feature (with heavy restrictions).
  1. SECOND POSSIBILITY (30%): Backend Migration (Switching Engines)
Many AI apps are just “wrappers” that rely on third-party providers.
  • Analysis: It is possible their old provider (e.g., an older model API) cut off access to audio-to-audio features.
  • The Effect: The team is currently scrambling to code a connection to a new engine (perhaps an open-source model).
  • Timeline: If this is the case, the feature will be dead for about 1 - 2 weeks, and when it returns, the audio quality might be different (better or worse).
  1. LEAST LIKELY (10%): 100% Return to Normal (Like Yesterday)
    This is extremely unlikely.
  • Why? Legal Risk. If they bring back the Cover feature that allows unrestricted uploading of artist tracks without filters, they are basically “challenging death” in the middle of the current lawsuits between major AI companies and Music Labels. Unless the developer is reckless and ready to be banned permanently, this won’t happen.

With all that said, I genuinely hope the Tune AI team can overcome this situation and prove me wrong, even though the probability seems very small given the current industry climate.

This is not just a complaint — this is a strong statement of support and defense for TuneeAI.

Yes, many of us are frustrated with the recent update. The drop in voice quality, instrumentals, failed generations, and credits being consumed without proper results are real issues and must be addressed. These concerns are valid and should not be ignored.

However, something very important is being lost amid the frustration:
TuneeAI is one of the best AI music creation platforms ever built.

TuneeAI did not earn its community by accident. It grew because it:

  • democratized music creation :musical_notes:

  • offered accessible daily credits

  • delivered an outstanding voice engine

  • respected creators’ privacy

  • allowed ordinary people to turn original lyrics into real songs

For many of us, TuneeAI is more than just an app.
It is a creative studio, a place of expression, and a bridge between imagination and music.

That’s why it hurts to see the platform going through such a difficult phase. But this is exactly when we must separate destructive criticism from conscious support.

If there are legal pressures, external limitations, or forced changes from app stores or providers, that does not erase everything TuneeAI has already achieved. In fact, it shows how powerful and disruptive the platform has become.

Let’s be honest:
bad platforms survive because they don’t threaten anyone.
great platforms suffer because they work too well.

This message is a clear request:

  • that the TuneeAI team does not give up

  • that they continue adjusting, listening, and improving

  • that they do not let the platform fall due to decisions that go against its original vision

The community is not here to destroy TuneeAI.
We are here because we love using TuneeAI.

We want quality back.
We want stability.
We want fairness in credit usage.

But above all, we want TuneeAI to stay alive, strong, and evolving.

There is still time.
There is still support.
There is still a community that believes.

Stay strong, TuneeAI :blue_heart::musical_notes::raised_fist:

democratizou a criação musical :musical_notes:

Força, TuneeAI :blue_heart::musical_notes:

Indeed. Copyright needs reform, for the last decades it have gone backwards instead of forward. Companies like Tunee AI takes steps in the opposite direction instead. It democratice content creation. And if the purpose of copyright laws was to encourage innovation and creativity - it now does the opposite!

Well enough about politics, I will say that I will come back to Tunees as soon as this issue has been resolved. And I happily pay for their service. And in the end AI will win. It is the future, while the stone age recording industry is becoming more and more irrelevant for each year. The AI revolution has just begun. And the power of the old Tunee engine was immense and a demonstration of that. Meta has come far with separating music instruments of different tracks. And I would not be surprised if AI models will be able to remove background noise from recordings with AI using spectral analysis, or repairing clipping, reconstructing lost overtones, removing an ugly reverb from a recording and so on. Or turning a WAV-file into a BMP image that can be edited in Photoshop and then converted back into a music file. There is no end to the possibilities.
Right now I just hope that a rock falls down from the sky and remove all dinousaurs.

I hope Tunee fights back. Fight for its users, for the AI industry, and for what is right and just and good for society as a whole. The other side just wanna enrich themselves on everyone elses expense and harm.
In the end should music creation be about fun and creativity. And I happily pay for this company so it can pay for its montly energy bills for it servers that it can continue to create music for us all, and even for those without money to spare. And to fund innovation of new AI tools, as this company have already has been proving itself innovative.
And I think that is beautiful.
All music deserves to sound great. Even genres that are not in my taste.

If AI can improve sound quality massivly, and help providing arrangements and stems for people without any deeper knowledge about chords that is great.
As a sound technician I think of music piece in 3 ways: 1. What does the notes sound like. 2. How are the artists playing the song, are they making it more fun, and interesting to listen to and giving it a pulse, and cool sound effects or are they making it boring, predictable and without variations in tempo, loudness or anything?
3. Sound quality.
All those 3 pieces makes up the end result. And it doesn’t matter if the music piece is great if it is badly cooked, as the tunee fox would put it. Even a Beef tenderloin will not be a delicious meal if it is badly cooked. And likewise, could some ordinary everyday food taste delicious if the chef made great work perfecting all its qualities - it might even be the best dinner you have eaten for the entire year despite this menu item normally isn’t your among your top 5 favorite meals.
And sound quality can enhance your overall impression of a music piece a little bit, or do the opposite if the sound quality is bad. But you will probably still love your favorite music even if the sound quality is crap, just like you will not like a bad song even if the sound technician done a perfect job recording it.

As I sees it, can AI helping us with part 2 and 3. While the idea of a music piece can come from ourselves. We can hum into a microphone and then write prompts to turn the idea into music.
I think this is wonderful. Some people nag about how synths are replacing all real musical instruments. And yes, there are some valid points there. But I also think its great that everyone can make music now with synths. Not everyone can afford to buy a church organ to their living room and get a drumset for 12000 Euro and play and annoy the neighbours.
I think like this: If a musicpiece done with synths is really great, then some artists will pick up the idea and turn it into a high quality recording. Just like old Nintendo games have been played by Symphonic orchestras. And then can do all those snobbish things to makes the nerds happy, and record the orchestra with Earthworks microphones for 12K Euros paired in AB microphone technique and get a room with perfect accustics and positioning the musicians in an optimal way. Sure.
But in the end, this music piece had not been possible without the “synth garbage” as inspiration.
And to be honest, 98% of people probably not notice much what is a real recording of band, and what has been made by AI and synths.
