A Follow-Up from the Tunee Forum Moderators

Hi everyone,

We want to sincerely apologize again for the impact this recent update has had on your experience. We know it disrupted workflows, broke expectations, and caused real frustration — and we’re truly sorry for that.

We’ve been closely reading the forum. The criticism, the long posts, the emotional reactions — none of them went unnoticed. Some users mentioned that the team hasn’t responded enough. We want to be transparent: it’s not because we don’t care. We avoided replying to every single thread with repeated statements, because we didn’t want our responses to feel generic or dismissive.

What genuinely stood out to us is the quality of discussion here. Many of you analyzed, reflected, and tried to understand the situation. That level of thoughtfulness shows how strong and engaged this community really is, and we truly respect that.

We also want to clearly acknowledge everyone’s emotions. Disappointment, anger, confusion — all of these are completely valid. If after multiple attempts you feel that Tunee no longer meets your creative needs at this moment and you decide to leave, we fully respect that decision.

We want to be clear and honest here: we can’t promise a version rollback, and we also can’t commit to a specific timeline or date right now. Some of the constraints we’re dealing with make that impossible at this stage, and we’d rather be upfront about that than make promises we can’t guarantee.

:backhand_index_pointing_right: If you would like a refund, please email support@tunee.ai with your Tunee registration email. We will assist you from there.

* This special refund policy valid before 2026.1.14.

From here, I want to speak more personally.

As one of the moderators of this forum, I’m genuinely sorry this turned out the way it did. Some parts of this situation were influenced by circumstances beyond our control, but that doesn’t make the experience any less painful. I’ve truly appreciated this journey with you, and no matter where you choose to create next, I hope you continue making amazing music. Bring the ideas in your head to life, and be happy doing it.

I still believe Tunee will grow into a better and more complete platform over time, and I hope — whether now or in the future — we can keep running alongside you. We don’t see users here as just numbers. Many of you know that we do listen, respond, and try to turn real feedback into real improvements. Sometimes there are constraints, but the commitment behind it hasn’t changed.

Personally, I’m also an active Tunee user and a music lover. Going through this is painful for me as well. But I still believe in where Tunee is heading.

Thank you for being part of this community, for speaking honestly, and for caring enough to hold us to a higher standard.

From Tunee Team

so.. are you guys gonna rollback the update like everyone is asking for..? if you read these topics than why arent you answering the main question of why the update and the lack of transparence between us and your team? its quite silly and sad that people had to spend nearly 3 full days almost 4 now to finally get a response that comes across as a half apology, zero mention of what the feedback was about the issue, you claim that its not for to be “generic or dismissive” well you already are when multiple people canceling their subscriptions and people like me who genuinely want to continue the support but this response is as a good one as youtuber apology, There’s zero actual accountability, who and why was the update push why use “copywrite” as the excuse when we all know that’s not the truth. This is a very “we are gonna turn a blind eye to the response”, Kinda of response. If you guys truly cared about the people and not just the numbers like you claim then a response should’ve come out day one, not almost a week later. This is really sad than to say “ write us an email to get back the credits you lost” ITS your guy’s faults and your giving people a due date. This is the most unserious response I’ve ever seen from any type of admin team, Show us that you care don’t tell us, Showing us does a lot more than making false promises over and over again. I was such huge fan of you guys a firm “hey check this thing out” but after this response? I’m good on supporting a company that’s so blind to their own issues.

We would like to know whether the old updates will be brought back.

Honestly, we think you took an unnecessary risk with this change. Almost all similar platforms build their infrastructure on pre-recorded or already-released material, and this has never been a problem. Copyright responsibility belongs to the user, not to the platform. Copyright applies to lyrics and composition, not to instrumentals or backing tracks. There are even anonymous works used in this way.

You are the only platform that has taken such a step back with an update like this. From Suno to many other sites, users can still upload well-known, fully recorded tracks. Only on your platform has there been such a restriction.

Many users register specifically for this feature. If even externally composed music cannot be converted into backing tracks on your site, then the platform loses its core purpose.

Additionally, your pricing is already among the highest. We accepted this and subscribed because the service was worth it. But after these updates, the experience has clearly deteriorated. If the previous updates are restored, no one will worry about account bans.

It would be a shame for your platform to lose users to competitors. You were climbing to the top, and you were even the only real competitor to Suno. Please reconsider this decision carefully. We are waiting.

Thank you.

I wanted to reach out and send some encouragement after what I know has been a tough week.

I truly wish your company the best of luck and hope the current situation gets sorted out. I originally paid for the $384 yearly subscription because I like what you are doing and want you to succeed. You are revolutionizing the music industry, and democratizing music creation is a beautiful thing.

Its a shame that we cannot have nice things.

To me, this program is to AI music what ‘Nano-banana’ is to AI image creation—it’s in a league of its own. That is why I subscribed and why I’ve recommended it to friends and family, all of whom were deeply impressed by the quality across every genre, from electronic, to rock, to classical, and horror movie scores.

I’ve created music here that I listen to during long, boring drives, and the experience is amazing. Being able to reinvent songs, adding ornamentals, arpeggiators, and flute trills to make them more interesting than mainstream music, is a gift. Thank you for the creativity you’ve enabled, and I hope to see you succeed.

These are kind words, but they don’t explain what’s really going on and why things are the way they are.

Please explain the exact circumstances that forced you to remove some core features. Tell us what the next concrete steps are to get the currently unusable Tunee platform back on track. What is the timeline for getting Tunee back into a usable state?

I currently have the impression that the team behind Tunee has absolutely no idea how and what to do now. The community has provided numerous suggestions and feedback, mostly with an understanding of the situation. However, there is also a demand to finally receive clear answers.

The Tunee team’s understanding of the great frustration of its users is good and right, but the Tunee team is simply not making a clear statement about what happened that caused them to remove core functions from one day to the next, nor are they providing any information about the timeline for improving Tunee’s currently untenable state.

The problem is that I never upload anyone else’s music. I write my own lyrics and compose my prompts myself. I am still affected by this, and I have absolutely no interest in making covers. Yet this hits me hard. You need to solve the copyright issue in some other way than putting all users on the sidelines with a now worthless product.

This take it or leave it is going to make @tuneeai irrelevant. the worst thing you can do is not listen to the audience, some of us decided to stay dispite this disasterous update , at least let us edit songs generated by tunee , thats all we ask. i am sure that does not break any copyright issues nor does it cause performance issues.

Unless change come this week, then I will be leaving the ship. Its sad this situation with Suno. Tunee offers a better product than Suno, but it still it is Tunee that has to go.

Come on @tuneeai you should switch on the cover feature for Tuneeai generated songs. This is just idiculous

I am the creator of IndiMusic TV (www.indimusic.tv) I FULLY understand the “challenges” Tunee is facing. For legal reasons and corporate fiduciary compliance the CANNOT disclose exactly what is causing this rollback. Finances are certainly part of it, but this was and hopefully is “Lighting In A Bottle”. When a small company does this without the funding, legal prowess and “clout” in the marketplace they are very vulnerable to outside pressure, influence and what does control their sustainability. I experienced this when I tried to Patent social media and Streaming at the code level in 2013. I was confronted with Google, Facebook etc…putting their “thumbs” on the scale at the Patent office. I simply couldn’t get my investors to continue the fight and I lost my Patent. That would have been worth Billions and would have been a huge turning point but it was not meant to be. I was too small and didn’t have the financial or political clout to force through to real success. I am afraid that is exactly what is happening here. The Tunee algorithm was a gamechanger! We ALL know that. BUT this is the real world and keep in mind we are still on the oil standard globally..why? Answer THAT and you have your answer here. God bless and may Tunee find a POWEFUL ally!

I believe AndreasV gave the answer on the discord server.

And I quote him: “Tunee, completely officially and never hidden, used the Suno 4.5 API.”

So Tunees have a smart chatbot that helps you talking to Sunos music creator, so when you upload musicpiece you do get Suno to make a cover for you. And Tunees chatbot is smart and make the most out of both Suno and your prompt. And the result is better music is being created here than what you can create on Suno. Suno songs sounds very similiar to Tunees, but since Suno only allow 32 seconds long cover songs instead of say 3 minutes like Tunee, do I consider their product as inferior and barely useful. Tunees is clearly so much better.

However lately have many changes been done at Suno. The company has been teaming up with Warner Music Group, and it have made changes to its app and licences to other companies that wanna borrow it. And that creates problems for Tunees when it relies on a company that has become a competitor.

So therefore do I not think that the situation would change anytime soon. Unless Tunees either can come to an agreement with Suno soon. Or if Tunees somewhere finds a new AI music creator as good as Suno to use instead, which I guess is unlikely to happen anytime soon.

It seems like the music generator is holding Tunees hostage. Just like it is difficult for Sweden to sell Gripen fighter jets when it has to rely on an American made engine and relying on the goodwill of a foreign entity that can veto any move the company makes. And the incentives to mess with a competitor is probably also there if you compete for the same pool of customers.

hope the Tunee team will openly address the many complaints about the latest 2026 update, as all users still hope that Tunee can return to its previous state for audio remixing and quality as it was before December 31, 2025.
Honestly, in my opinion, Tunee AI is still the best for remixing songs.
