A Message to the Tunee Forum Regarding the Dec 31 Update

We want to be transparent: due to external factors, we had to remove this feature. Without doing so, the platform itself would not be able to continue operating. Until we can find a viable way to work around these external constraints, we’re not able to commit to a specific timeline for reinstating the cover feature. We know this is disappointing, especially for users working in regional languages, and we truly appreciate your understanding and patience while we navigate this situation.:smiling_face_with_tear:

For models that are developed in-house by Tunee, we follow strict internal standards around data usage and licensing. For models that are not developed by us and are integrated from third-party providers, we operate under and adhere to the respective model providers’ user agreements and licensing terms. In those cases, the training data policies and copyright positions are governed by the model vendor’s own compliance framework.

Generally speaking, when music is created for personal, non-commercial, or non-distributed use, the associated copyright risk is relatively low. That said, specific risk levels can still vary depending on how the content is ultimately used and the applicable platform or jurisdiction.

Regarding prompt adherence and output stability: with the recent model changes, there are differences in how instructions are interpreted, which has affected consistency for some users. We’re currently preparing a new user guide specifically focused on how to improve stability and music quality under the new models (including prompt structure, constraints, and practical tips). We’ll be sharing this shortly, and we hope it will be helpful.

On track length: we hear this feedback clearly. Longer and more flexible durations are something the team is aware of and actively evaluating, though we can’t confirm a specific timeline yet.

As for refunds or credit compensation: if recent generations were unusable and resulted in wasted credits, you can send your project links and Tunee account email to support@tunee.ai. The team will review your case and help with credit recovery where appropriate.

We know this hasn’t been an easy experience, and we genuinely appreciate your patience and detailed feedback.

We want to clarify one important technical point. The cover feature was built on a core capability that preserves the original melody while modifying other elements such as lyrics and arrangement. Because this underlying technology had to be taken offline, that capability is currently unavailable across the board. As a result, even original demos created by users are temporarily unable to use melody-preserving lyric edits.

We understand how frustrating this feels, especially for creators working on their own original music. Our ideal direction — and what the team is actively working toward — is to clearly distinguish between user-created original music and externally copyrighted material, and to allow users to perform melody-preserving edits on their own works. This is something we’re actively developing and accelerating internally.

That said, we want to be honest: while we are working hard on this, we’re not able to commit to a specific timeline yet. We fully understand the anger and disappointment this uncertainty causes, and we don’t want to minimize that.

In the meantime, we hope our refund policy can help reduce the losses for users who feel the platform no longer meets their needs right now. If you decide to request a refund, we completely understand and respect that choice.

We’re actively working to find ways to operate within and around the external constraints we’re facing. Without doing so, the platform wouldn’t be able to continue operating sustainably. This takes time, which is why we can’t commit to a specific timeline at the moment.

Ideally, we want to clearly distinguish between music that is fully generated by users and content that may involve external copyrighted material. That separation would allow us to better support creative freedom while staying compliant.

Regarding the drop in music quality after the model switch, we’re fully aware of the issue. We’re currently preparing a new user guide focused on improving stability and music quality under the new models, and we hope it will be helpful to those who choose to stay.

We’re truly sorry for the frustration this has caused, and we appreciate your patience.

Thank you very much for your response Leah. Is there a way to select the model to be used?

Yes — you can select the model before generating. :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi,

I’ve sent an email to support requesting credit recovery, even though I deleted several tracks that were generated recently because they became auditorily overwhelming.

While users who work with lo-fi or softer genres might not experience issues, for stronger, more dynamic styles, the output often comes out with metallic, harsh tones, flat production, and ghost-like effects in the background. The AI seems to misinterpret the selected style, affecting rhythm, genre, and overall sonic identity.

At this point, the issue isn’t the vocal aspect but how the music manifests instrumentally and texturally, which makes it unusable.

I still trust the Tunee team’s effort and commitment, and I want to sincerely thank you for your extraordinary effort and hard work.

I hope future updates will restore the kind of expressive, high-quality output we all enjoy.

Thank you!!

Without going into legal details, I believe the current approach is wrong. I used Tunee as a singing student to create lyrical/classical-style covers from my own karaoke tracks. These were not intended for selling, piracy, or redistribution, but simply for personal practice: listening to songs in different styles and singing them at home.

There is no profit motive on the user’s side, so I don’t understand why the tool itself should impose such strict limitations. AI, in this context, should be a creative tool for making music. Preventing this use feels as absurd as forbidding a philharmonic orchestra from playing a rock cover just for fun during rehearsal.

The limitation should apply to commercial use—when someone wants to monetize a song on Spotify or any other platform—not to the creative or educational use of the tool itself. Restricting the tool will only encourage users to look for alternative solutions without such limitations.

Tunee was very close to an ideal solution: creating covers with arrangements and key changes, even transforming something as simple as a piano track into something grand, without altering the score or tempo. Tunee should function like a camera that takes a photo, without censoring what is being photographed. The responsibility lies with the user and with whoever chooses to sell or monetize the result.

With the current restrictions, I’m unfortunately being forced to look for another solution.

Thank you again. Which is tunee’s model?

They already said that rolling back is not an option.

We cannot make song in hindi , nor create same melody , very disgusting, please reverse your update, Thanks

The most rubbish update I’ve seen to date.
If you don’t fix the Persian language, refund the money we paid.

Hello, I would like to respond to the latest update. I am a techno artist, and Tunee was a real discovery for me it was the only platform that perfectly understood the atmosphere, character, mechanics, and arrangement of dark techno, melodic techno, and analogue techno. The quality was completely phenomenal and provided me with a constant stream of new ideas.

However, after this update, the results are absolutely terrible. The platform can no longer generate techno. What it produces is a total disaster incorrect melodies, off-theme results, and complete nonsense. After this update, Tunee is ruined.
